Great value, especially for low powered desktops,
We bought this for my son’s computer, so he could play some of the higher level games and continue his videography on his HP Pavilion. He can now play Portal 2 on its highest settings with absolutely no latency or any other issues. The board requires no additional power pigtails, drawing solely off the motherboard slot. At first, I was concerned about my power supply (300W) being insufficient, but we have had no problems. Of course, we only run it with one monitor. Driving multiple displays will, of course, increase the power requirements dramatically, so keep this in mind if you plan on using more than one. It is also incredibly quiet, even when its running full bore. Finally, we have had no problems concerning heat dissipation. We monitored the temperature in the case over the first month and have seen no major peaks or other concerns.
For the price (under $100), you cannot beat the performance, especially for low-powered desktops. As long as the area just to the right of the slot is pretty clear, installation is a breeze. I had to re-route a cable or two, but nothing to dramatic. The instructions are straight-forward, just make sure you get the drivers from the website, as the drivers provided in the included CD are very old. All-in-all, we are extremely satisfied with this purchase. I would strongly recommend this video card to to most anyone, except the extremely hard-core gamer.

|Great choice,
I bought this card to replace an Nvidia GT 220 that started to fail. I had a slight bit of trouble with the installation but I think it may have just been because the DVI cable wasn’t fully seated. I did get the card installed and working. I downloaded the drivers direct from AMD before I even noticed the cdrom in the box. I probably would have ignored it anyway; cdroms that ship with products usually have outdated drivers.
Anyway, I am very satisfied with this card. The performance is way better than the card it replaced (according to graphics card benchmarks). I haven’t really noticed; I’m not much of a gamer. I bought this card because it was recommended on a web site that called it the most powerful card available that didn’t need an external power connecter (all power comes through the slot). Since I don’t do a lot of gaming the low power was appealing.
I also liked the large fan (the larger the fan the slower it needs to spin so it makes less noise). I can’t hear the fan at normal operating temperatures with the case closed. The fan also looks very cool. I don’t have a window in my case but I still like knowing that my graphics card looks good.

|Bang for your buck,
Plays nearly any DX9 title on high or highish settings @ 1600×900 (no AA) w/an Phenom II x3. It idles for me at about 34c and rarely goes over 50c on load. (That’s quite cool in my opinion) It’s also very quiet up until about 50% fan speed, but I have yet to see it hit that fan speed on its own.
The card doesn’t require any kind of additional power connector, so all power is drawn from the PCI-E slot. The upside to this is that it requires very little power, making it a very valid option for people with weaker power supplies. The downside is that there isn’t much potential for overclocking despite it running very cool.
